A general commercial and business lawyer, Jonathan worked for many years in Collins Street. ‘Doing the hard yards’ in the city before establishing his own practice on the Mornington Peninsula, where he grew up. Jonathan’s passion for the law began when he studied Criminology at Melbourne University, and a Law Degree at Monash University shortly after. Completing his Articles in 2007 at the top end of town, Jonathan began his law experience effectively ‘living at the Rialto’. Trained at a really high level and programmed to perform, Jonathan gained extensive experience managing the complex legal aspects of high end commercial and business transactions. But Jonathan’s passion for human rights drove him to become an equally strong advocate for others. Devoting a lot of time to supporting and doing pro bono work with the Central Australian Aboriginal Legal Aid Service in Alice Springs. He was based there for a number of years as a senior civil lawyer and acting Principal Legal Officer. Also working on the Royal Commission as the instructing solicitor for children in detention centres, managing the court hearings.
